The general and exceptionally strong rise in prices has affected all business and consumer activity in Finland, including ours. We will increase our training fees by a few euros during autumn 2023. At the same time, we will update our contract terms to make them more flexible.

Forever Pihlajalinna’s business concept is based on comfortable, airy and well-equipped sports facilities. These are now facing particularly high cost increases due to the rapid rise in consumer price indices; direct and indirect rental, maintenance, management and energy costs for the properties have risen dramatically. To ensure business continuity, we are responding with a moderate price increase.

For members, the price changes will take effect from 1.11.2023

From 1.9.2023, the price list prices for training fees will increase by 4-5 euros per 4-week billing period. At the same time, new contract terms will enter into force. We reward our members for their commitment, so the changes will only come into effect from 1.11.2023.

The price change for both the contract of indefinite duration as well as the 12-month fixed-term contracts will be +4 € per 4 weeks in our Premium training locations, and in our Lite locations the price change will be +5 € per 4 weeks for the contract of indefinite duration. The price of the Lite location’s annual gym contract (12-month) will now be €299 per year.

Although the price changes are moderate, we are offering our existing members the opportunity to secure the lowest price for another year. The new contract changes will in turn provide more flexibility. Find out more about these below and from the customer service desk at your local gym.

A fixed term protects you from price changes – secure the best price for another year

Our current members will stay on the old price level for two months longer than others. The price change, +4 € or +5 € per 4-week billing period, will take effect for members from 1 November 2023, on the next training fee that is generated.

The increase effective from 1.11.2023 does not apply to existing customers with a 12 or 24 month fixed contract period. For these contracts, the price will only change after the end of the current contract period.

As an existing customer, you have the option to upgrade to a fixed 12-month contract if you wish, thus keeping the old, lower price for up to a year. You can upgrade your contract at your local customer service desk during September, but before 1 October 2023.

Contract reform to make pausing more flexible and remove handling fees

In connection with the price changes, we renewed our contract terms. We removed all additional fees for handling the fee changes from the customer service at Premium locations – you can now pay your training fees with sports discounts without a separate handling fee.

You can now pause training fees for a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 6 months at a time, with advance notice. There will be a €10 office fee per session to processing the pausing, but you do not need to justify the reason for the pause. In case of health issues, we also accept a post notification.

The terms and conditions of the contract have been clarified, including the determination of the annual membership fee. The membership fee is always valid for one calendar year, but it will be invoiced among the first training fee due, even if the training fee is due in a month other than January eg. for a training pause.

One change is that young exercisers, aged 15-17, will now be allowed to sign a fitness contract independently, without the consent of a guardian. This change is based on the Consumer Authority’s view on the affordability and convenience of fitness contracts for young people.

Act now – secure the cheapest extension for a year or indicate that you do not accept the change

You have the right under our membership agreement not to accept our changes that come into force. If so, please contact your local training center still during September.

However, you should first take a close look at any changes – they are made to improve your membership. Therefore, if you do not contact our customer service team separately, we will assume that you accept the changes as they stand.
